In the last two weeks you may have seen the following trailer for Scott Mann’s autumnan upcoming horror film about two people trapped on a 2,000 foot pole in the desert.

While you might be wondering, “Why did they have to climb a 2,000-foot tower in the desert” or “How was *that* done?” autumn seems to be in good company in the WTF Movie Hall of Fame. In fact, the aforementioned teaser inspired me to check out a bunch of equally insane movies that you may not only have missed, but maybe didn’t even know existed. So, without further ado, here are 20 amazing movies you can watch right now, believe it or not.

1.

deerskin (2019)

Oscar-winning actor Jean Dujardin stars in the lead role rubber Filmmaker Quentin Dupieux’s 2019 dark comedy as a broke middle-aged man who recently bought a deerskin motorcycle jacket who appeals to him and demands that it become the only jacket in the world by any means necessary.

I declare war (2012)

While this Canadian action-comedy was shot with the best of intentions, it might be pretty obvious why this film, which follows a group of kids playing capture the flag in the woods and imagining their guns as terrifyingly real tools of war, is so is becoming a hard sell to audiences following IRL tragedies.

Vampires, ritual murder, the ghost of Edgar Allan Poe and a fictionalized facsimile of a shocking real-life tragedy all somehow figure in Francis Ford Coppola’s little-seen gothic horror film starring Val Kilmer, Bruce Dern, Alden Ehrenreich and Elle Fanning.

replicas (2018)

Best known for having the worst wide release opening of star Keanu Reeves’ entire career, this completely off-kilter sci-fi flick follows a neuroscientist who steals his clearly evil company’s cloning machines to create a new one to create a version of his recently deceased family.

Love & Sex in the air (2013)

Sara Paxton, Zach Cregger, Ashley Bell and Addison Timlin all star in this underwhelming, offbeat romantic comedy about two couples who are set against the backdrop of the Air Sex World Championships, a competition that’s like karaoke but for sexual acts face their respective problems.

Nurse 3D (2013)

Folks, this absolute disaster of an erotic horror thriller trying to jump on the 3D movie trend has to be seen to be believed Rock horror-worthy performance by Paz de la Huerta as a murderous, sex-obsessed nurse. Oddly enough, the behind-the-scenes stories are almost as chaotic as the on-screen action, including de la Huerta being hit by an ambulance during filming and the actress whose harsh voiceover was completely replaced with a noticeably different soundalike (which, by the way the spark was). an unsuccessful $55 million lawsuit).

Villain One and Doctor Strange Star Mads Mikkelsen gets really weird in this Dutch comedy about five socially maladjusted brothers who discover the extraordinarily unusual circumstances of their birth after learning that their biological father was a mad geneticist.

The cleaning (2016)

Johnny Galecki, Anna Friel, Anjelica Huston and Oliver Platt round out this offbeat dramedy in which people participate in a self-help retreat where they can manifest their emotional pain and negative energy into living, breathing creatures.

Jiminy Glick in Lalawood (2004)

I don’t know who exactly requested a film about Martin Short’s over-the-top and intentionally irritating “Jiminy Glick” character, particularly one tied to the murder mysteries of the Golden Age and featuring a fictionalized version of indie film legend David Lynch (also played by Short), but they definitely exist.

The scribbler (2014)

Based on Daniel Schaffer’s graphic novel, this ensemble stars Whodunnit Arrow‘s Katie Cassidy surrounds a woman suffering from dissociative identity disorder who must uncover the truth behind a series of apparent suicides in her new transitional home, aided by a super-powered being who communicates with her via reverse messaging.

big game (2014)

Samuel L. Jackson plays the President of the United States who must join forces with a young boy to escape terrorists who are hunting the Supreme Commander after Air Force One was shot down in this covert but surprisingly vast wilderness over the Finnish wilderness Action Recap.

Unmusical (2019)

It follows the surreal and surprisingly violent horror comedy from Richard Bates Jr Silicon Valley‘s Amanda Crew as a hapless millennial pianist who rents a secluded Airbnb from a widower (Robert Patrick) whose extremely conservative views lead to homicidal tendencies due to his undiagnosed dementia.

Criminal (2016)

Despite an all-star cast that included Kevin Costner, Ryan Reynolds, Gal Gadot, Gary Oldman, and Tommy Lee Jones, this high-concept thriller was a massive flop on both a critical and commercial level.

The fanatic (2019)

In an incredibly goofy thriller directed by Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst, The fanatic stars John Travolta (?!) as an autistic movie buff whose obsession with his favorite actor (Devon Sawa) turns deadly serious.

Roar (1981/2015)

Restored and first released in the US by Drafthouse Films in 2015, RoarThe cult following of has largely stemmed from its reputation as “the most dangerous movie ever made” as there were nearly 50 injuries to the cast and crew during the making of this comedy about a family (director Noel Marshall and his real family), including Tippi Hedren and Melanie Griffith) who moves to a wildlife sanctuary in Tanzania overrun by giant jungle cats.

Directed by exploitation specialist Kurando Mitsutake, this wacky revenge film follows a doctor who trains a young woman (cult favorite Asami Sugiura) to be the perfect assassin for a mission that requires her to assemble and use weapon parts implanted inside her body.

An evening with Beverly Luff Linn (2018)

From the mind of The sleazy strangler Directed by Jim Hosking, this extraordinarily odd comedy that follows an unhappily married woman who is attracted to an eccentric, almost silent character from her mysterious past has an amazing cast (including Aubrey Plaza, Emile Hirsch, Jemaine Clement, Matt Berry, Craig Robinson). , and Zach Cherry) and easily offers the most idiosyncratic work of her career.
