The future of DC Comics-inspired films breaks fantastical new ground, introducing a range of characters and corners of the canon to mainstream audiences. Below is bat girl, a live-action film that follows the journey of Barbara Gordon / Batgirl (Leslie Grace). While there are still many questions surrounding Batgirl’s modern day film debut – including when and where the film will eventually be released – there is a lot of hype surrounding the project and its cast and crew. That includes composer Natalie Holt, who recently narrated Comicbook.com in an exclusive interview on how she came to the “super exciting” film.

“I mean, it’s so cool,” Holt explained as he ate Comicbook.com about her work at Disney+ Star Wars: Obi Wan Kenobi. “1989 Batman is one of my favorites and the fact that Michael Keaton is in it is just super exciting. I just spoke to Adil [el Arbi] and Billall [Fallah]the directors, and they just have so much energy and enthusiasm, and they really like it Loki. They contacted me afterwards Loki aired and just said, “We have this project that you would like to read.” And from there it just kept going. But yeah, it was fun.”

bat girl follows the journey of Barbara Gordon, a young woman who becomes Gotham’s newest protector. The film is directed by el Arbi and Fallah and written by Christina Hodson, whose work includes Birds of Prey (and the Fantastic Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and the coming The Lightning Movie. The film is expected to star JK Simmons in his role as Commissioner James Gordon, Michael Keaton in his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Ivory Aquino as Alysia Yeoh, and Jacob Scipio, Rebecca Front, Corey Johnson and Ethan Kai in currently cast roles. unknown roles.

“This is only my second role, but what I’m learning from my co-workers and other friends is that you put a little bit of yourself into every character,” Grace explained in an interview last year. “And just in the little research I did leading up to pre-production, I learned a lot of things about Barbara that really resonated with me.”

“She’s someone who was underestimated even by her own father and as a youngest child you’re sometimes isolated from all the hard things in life and she’s so eager to prove to herself and everyone else that there are some things that can be done with can handle them,” Grace continued. “Well, this trip will definitely show me a lot of that. I feel like I’m on an endless journey to prove to myself what barriers I can break, what boundaries I can break for myself, and I look forward to setting them a little bit of that zeal and drive and almost a little bit Stubbornness in Barbara’s character.”
