After the sexual assault charges against him, the embattled actor, Kevin Spacey was dropped from the lead role in the historical drama, 1242: Gateway to the West. According to Variety, the actor will no longer direct the film as negotiations are ongoing to find a replacement.

The trial is scheduled to begin on June 6 next year. British broadcaster Channel 4 has ordered a documentary series by the name Spacey exposed which will follow the actor’s rise and fall as well as his current legal battles.

1242: Gateway to the West will continue without Spacey. The film was bought at the Cannes Film Market and will have a budget of $10-25 million. While Chamberlain is producing the film, peter soos will conduct. A two-month shoot for the film is scheduled to begin on October 17.
