When and where to watch Lightyear Streaming
If you were expecting to see light year Before I stream on platforms like Netflix, HBO Max or Peacock, I have bad news for you. But if you’re assuming the latest Pixar theatrical releases will eventually join Disney+’s incredible library of films, then this is one of those rare instances where the saying, “You know what they say about assumptions…” couldn’t be more wrong .
Disney announced this in July 2022 light year would be available to everyone with a Disney+ subscription starting Wednesday, August 3rd. That means you can catch the film on the big screen less than two months after it launched. Disney did something similar with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness who joined the streamer about a month and a half after its theatrical debut.

Are there other ways to see Lightyear?
It’s understandable that not everyone uses Disney+ for one reason or another, so some might be wondering if there are other ways to look at it light year voice cast in action. Well, as of July 2022, the film is still in theaters across the country. Obviously it won’t be on the big screen forever, so be sure to check your local listings (remember when they were in the papers?) before heading to your local cinema.
But what about those of us who live in areas where light year not playing on the big screen? Well, the film will surely be released on DVD, Blu-ray, 4K UHD and digital formats at some point in the future, Disney is just yet to announce an exact release date. However, we can make an educated guess as to whether we use it Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness as an an example. This film opened in theaters on May 6th and will be available on Blu-ray on July 26th light year, which opened June 17, is taking a similar path, we’ll likely see it on home video sometime in early September. But even that is just a guess.
