“We’re saying the same thing,” Joe Russo remarked when asked about the possibility that he and his brother Anthony could direct a version of the film Secret Wars Storyline for Marvel.
In fact, they’ve been asking for it and giving for years restrained answers and try to walk the line between enthusiasm and secrecy. As Marvel Studios Phase 4 unfolds, fans seem more excited at the prospect of it concluding the current film cycle in the same way Avengers: Infinity War and endgame did for phase 3. Why anything The duo say the idea is endlessly analyzed by fans and journalists alike.
Deadline caught up with Anthony and Joe Russo at the premiere of their Netflix film last night. The gray manand managed to get her to talk about why Secret Wars is her dream Marvel project. You can watch the clip below.

“Our love for Marvel is based on the books we read as kids, the books we fell in love with,” Joe told Deadline. “The one series we adored growing up was Secret Wars. It’s incredibly ambitious. It would be bigger than Infinite War and endgame. But it’s a massive undertaking. These two films were very difficult to make. So are you trying to imagine doing two more films that are even bigger than these two? We have to sleep on that.”

This is an important finding from the interview Secret Wars is a dream project for the brothers. If you’re Marvel and you’ve got the duo that created two of the top five grossing films of all time — which grossed nearly $6 billion at the box office — and they’re dying to do two more series capping features for you, there has to be one be hard idea to resist.
Another takeaway is the phrase “two films.” While many have assumed Secret Wars would have to be stretched across two films that the Russo brothers referenced at times Secret Wars as a movie.
“It would be the greatest movie imaginable, so that’s what really excites us about the story – the ambition is even bigger than the ambition of the Infinity saga,” Anthony said in 2020.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige, when asked about rumors about a Secret Wars Final for phase 4, played shy.

“I’ve seen those rumors too. Why is everyone talking about this now? I want to know that,” said Feige at the end of last year. “I think one person writes about it, and then another person writes about it, and then everyone writes about it, and then it happens.”
Last month, Feige promised more clarity in an interview with Total Film, saying: “We’ll be addressing that a little more directly in the coming months to put in place a plan so viewers who want to see the bigger picture can see a tiny, tiny, tiny more.” from the roadmap.”
A very obvious signpost in the coming months is the D23 Expo 2022 taking place from September 9th to 11th. Marvel will also be at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con, but will likely reserve big reveals for September.
That Secret Wars Saga includes the X-Men, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Deadpool and the Avengers. It would be a great way to tie all of the current storylines together and synergize the reunited Marvel film assets.
