This is good news for Marvel and Disney, despite previous reports Thor: Ragnarok (2017) sequel and comedy-forward marvel epic falls surprisingly short, especially compared to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, which grossed $450 million at the worldwide box office. Spider-Man: No Way Home (2022) (and the Spider-Man franchise as a whole), however, remains the true golden goose of Marvel and Sony, grossing a staggering $1.8 billion worldwide.

Compared to last weekend Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022) came to almost 400 million dollars with 399.9 million dollars Top Gun: Maverick (2022) came to a whopping $1.184 billion.

However, Disney and Pixar earlier light year (2022), starring Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear, came in with a disappointing opening weekend of $85.6 million considering it had a $200 million budget.

The fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be doing well for now – currently it’s not making as much of a fuss as the Avengers movies Avengers: Infinity War (2018), which grossed $640.5 million worldwide in its opening weekend, and Avengers: Endgame (2019), which grossed $1.223 billion — but was still successful for billionaire Marvel Studios.
